“Up to 75 percent of trash in an average garbage can is recyclable, but typically only 25 percent gets recycled.”
—U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Over 50% of aluminum cans that are produced are recycled. What about the other 50%?

The energy saved by recycling one aluminum can is enough energy to power a television for up to three hours.

If everyone recycled their newspaper on Sunday, 500,000 trees would be saved.

In one year, the number of aluminum cans being recycled equates to saving 15 million barrels of crude oil. That is the same amount of gasoline that America is estimated to consume in one day.

A can that is not recycled equates to wasting half a can of gasoline.

For every 35% of our trash that is recycled, global warming emissions are reduced by a rate comparable to 36 million cars not being used.

If everyone recycled their newspaper on Sunday, 500,000 trees would be saved.
